Welcome

Sydney Anglicans have always had an obsession with grace. It’s one of the things that makes us a bit different – even the way we do aid. We’re moved by the extravagance of God in Jesus.

That’s why, in September, the Archbishop of Sydney’s Appeals Unit becomes The Archbishop of Sydney’s ANGLICAN AID.

And soon, we’ll reveal our new-look logo and website.

The new name shows there’s an aid organisation that belongs to you. That believes what you believe. That invites you to participate in aid, because God has aided us so powerfully in Jesus.

It’s still using our three proven programs: the Community Care Fund, Overseas Relief and Aid Fund, and the Overseas Ministry Fund. But we’ll be doing it because, like Paul proclaims, we want to "excel in this act of grace"

The Pakistan Flood Disaster

Millions of people have been affected by Pakistan’s worst flooding in decades, with the crisis deepening as torrential rains continue to fall across the country.

As many as 14 million people have been affected by the floods with at least 1600 deaths.  Entire villages have been washed away and millions of hectares of crops have been destroyed. The threat of water-borne diseases is high.

The Archbishop of Sydney’s Appeals Unit is deeply concerned about the plight of the Pakistani people. As we do not have established partners in the region we are not running an appeal.

Our recommendation to those who would like make a donation is to look on the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) website for a list of organisations that have established appeals.

We encourage you to pray fervently for the people of Pakistan amidst this devastating disaster.
